Jeff Jones

Executive Coach

What excites me about working with Modern is their holistic approach to delivering exceptional client outcomes. Unlike so many other firms, Modern isn’t afraid to innovate and chart a new and different path in pursuit of its goals.

Jeff has over 10 years of coaching and assessment experience serving global Fortune 500 clients. He founded North Trail, an executive coaching firm that is focused on helping leaders develop their executive presence and communication skills. Previously, he was at The Miles Group (TMG) where he led projects across the spectrum of their services, including executive coaching, executive development and assessment, and team effectiveness for top leadership teams. As a product leader, Jeff also played a key role in leading and managing the design, development, and marketing of TMG coaching content, products, and learning and development offerings.

Before joining TMG, Jeff was a senior associate within Heidrick & Struggles’ Leadership Consulting Practice where he served clients across a number of industry sectors, including technology, financial services, transportation, pharmaceutical, and natural resources, among others.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Jeff was adjunct faculty in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech where he directed the Leadership Educational Development Program and taught course on leadership and crisis management. During that time, he also conducted state and federally funded research on the privatization of government services and publicly funded partnerships. Early in his career, Jeff served as a management consultant for TATC Consulting in Washington, DC.

Jeff studied for his doctorate (ABD) in public policy at Georgia Tech and earned his master’s degree in political science from the University of Georgia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science, cum laude, from the George Washington University. Jeff lives in Atlanta.
