John Pike

Senior Partner

Modern, simply put, is doing things differently. They have started with purpose at the center and have cascaded that through each decision, candidate, and client they serve. Disrupting an industry doesn't happen by accident, it takes a team of values anchored leaders to sustain the energy required to push through the quitting points.

John Pike is a Senior Partner for Modern, based in Minneapolis. John is an expert in Modern's advisory capabilities with special emphasis on executive assessment and development. He works with clients to create sustainable talent and leadership architecture to support the businesses strategies. John has led the development of leadership models that have touched over 2,000,000 employees across the globe.

Prior to joining Modern, John was a key member of the assessment leadership at Korn Ferry where he pioneered the translation of their tools into the unique operating environments of clients across industries and functions. He’s known as a gifted facilitator and communicator executing programs in team effectiveness and experiential leadership development. John is particularly noted for his ability to customize content into his client’s organizational context. His energy and charisma ensure participants stay engaged throughout the entire learning experience.

An experienced executive coach, John also spends time using the architectures he has created having coached executives from over 45 countries. Previously, John managed a multimillion-dollar portfolio of projects in employee engagement, organizational change, brand management, strengths integration, and talent selection with Gallup. John developed his strengths focused approach to coaching and leadership development while working with Gallup’s positive psychology framework. During his early career, he worked as a financial consultant with early-stage start-ups developing their underlying financial and accounting systems to mitigate long-term risk and ensure access to future capital.

John is actively involved in his community. He is a mentor to business students at the University of Minnesota, leads a six-week leadership and personal exploration course for students, and organizes events with the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
