Karen Larrimer

PNC

I was drawn to Modern because I believe in opening doors and providing avenues for creating greater diversity in leadership; Modern, to me, represents a new beginning for how all hiring organizations need to think about their search for talent in 2021 and beyond.

Karen Larrimer has over 25 years of experience in the retail banking space, serving the last four as the Head of Retail Banking and Chief Customer Officer for the PNC Financial Services Group. She is consistently recognized as one of the top female executives in banking, being named to the Most Powerful Women in Banking by American Banker magazine in each of the past six years, received the Most Powerful and Influential Woman Award by the National Diversity Council’s Pennsylvania Awards Committee in 2014, received the Girl Scouts of America Award of Distinction in Business in 2013, named a “Mother of the Year” by Working Mother magazine in 2010, and named to the “Women Worth Watching” list by Diversity Journal in 2009. She also was recently named a Carlow University Woman of Spirit in 2020.

At PNC, Karen has taken on a myriad of leadership roles, including Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of the Business Banking division, overseeing strategic planning, marketing, product management, and product development. She has also led teams in the treasury management space and sales across regions.

In addition to her role at Modern, she is the president of the board for the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Duquesne Club. Karen also sits on the board of directors for the PNC Foundation and the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the board of trustees for Robert Morris University, the board of visitors for the RMU Women’s Leadership and Mentorship Program, and finally, as an emeritus board member for Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
