His recent work spans top team effectiveness, workforce strategy, leadership development, and diversity, equity & inclusion.
Prior to joining Modern Executive Solutions, Gates was a manager at McKinsey & Company, where he advised clients on talent and organizational strategy and led flagship leadership development programs - serving over 100,000 leaders across1,500+ organizations. He has worked extensively across sectors, including technology, financial services, healthcare, and the public sector, with a focus on cultivating inclusive leadership, accelerating executive performance, and enabling change at scale.
Gates began his consulting career at the Neuro Leadership Institute, delivering neuroscience-informed capability building for senior leaders across North America and Europe. A social scientist by training, Gates began his career in behavioral medicine across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, grounding his leadership advisory work in a deep understanding of human behavior and organizational performance.
Based in Boston, Gates holds a Master’s degree in Business from the University of Oxford and completed graduate study in clinical psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is passionate about helping clients build stronger leaders - and stronger organizations - from the inside out.
