Jen Nelson is Modern’s Vice President of Marketing & Employee Experience, where she leads the firm’s brand, communications, and employee experience strategy. In this integrated role, Jen is responsible for shaping how Modern shows up in the market and how its people experience the organization.

With a passion for people and storytelling, Jen oversees marketing and communications initiatives including brand strategy, content development, digital marketing, and events, while also partnering across the firm to cultivate a positive and high-performing workplace. Her work centers on aligning Modern’s external brand with its internal culture, ensuring a cohesive and authentic experience for both clients and employees.

Jen brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations, with deep expertise in the executive recruiting industry. Prior to joining Modern, she served as Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Development at Ward Howell, where she led marketing efforts for Ward Howell USA and managed partner recruiting and onboarding.

Earlier in her career, Jen was a senior member of the marketing team at Heidrick & Struggles, overseeing strategic marketing and communications for the Global CEO & Board Practice. She also served on the communications team for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games during an early chapter of her career.

Jen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
