Kelly Carnes is a Managing Director at Modern with over 25 years of experience in executive search and talent advisory. Her experience includes leading executive search practices at Fortune 500 technology companies, work in the financial services practice at the world’s largest executive search firm, and serving as a leader and partner in a boutique financial services search firm.
Prior to Modern, Kelly was a Practice Lead within Google Cloud, serving as a talent advisor and executive search consultant for leaders in go-to-market, strategy, and operations, as well as serving as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion lead for the team. She previously worked in a similar role at IBM, supporting leaders in IBM Consulting and IBM Cloud. Prior to her in-house experience, Kelly spent over 20 years working for executive search firms, including time at Korn Ferry as a Managing Consultant in the financial services practice and was as a Partner and leader at the financial services boutique, Raymond H. Riley & Associates.
Kelly earned her Master of Science in Marketing Research from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from Texas A&M Kingsville.
