Mark Oppenheimer has 20 years of experience building and leading innovative global search firms.
Prior to Modern, Mark was CEO, Americas and Chief Client Officer for Marlin Hawk Executive Search. From 2010 to 2018, Mark helped lead the company from five to roughly 80 employees and grew revenues from $800,000 to $32 million. During this time, he launched an innovative new set of service lines and digital products while founding and growing the U.S. entity to consist of more than 70 blue chip clients.
In 2019, Mark began a new mission with his wife, Michelle Domanico, to launch a new kind of firm that uses a single talent lens to integrate expertise for clients across executive search, org design, assessment, leadership development, and more. Their ambition is to build Modern from the inside out, with a culture of equality, care, and teamwork that supports diverse leadership teams with a mission to help top leaders build future-ready organizations and a purpose of improving and saving lives.
Taking care of employees is Mark’s number one driver in business, and taking care of his family and the community is his number one goal in life. He and Michelle are co-founders of the Modern Giving Foundation, which has pledged more than $4 million to support youth from underserved communities through education and pediatric care for children with life-threatening illnesses or rare diseases. He is also a board member of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for Neurofibromatosis, a group of genetic conditions that cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and that his daughter battles. He is a member of YPO and has dedicated significant volunteer time to New York Cares, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
Mark received a 1st Class Honor in Economics from The University of Nottingham.
