Ron Domanico

Senior Practitioner

Ron Domanico is a career CFO (public and private) with 32 years in the seat and an extensive track record of strategic transformation and value creation. He is an experienced board “financial expert” who has driven highly profitable liquidity events, successfully raised debt and equity capital, chaired audit committees and participated on special committees. Ron has material relevant experience in ESG / Sustainability, compensation, governance, and Enterprise Risk Management including Talent and Cyber.

Ron was instrumental in the strategic transformation of Brinks from “cash-in-transit” to tech-enabled digital payments. The refocused organic growth strategy, combined with dozens of accretive acquisitions, grew revenue 63% and operating profit 172% in six years. At HD Supply, Ron developed and executed the strategy to consolidate the portfolio, drive industry leading performance, and complete the highest-levered IPO in Wall Street history. Over seven years in Kraft General Foods Scandinavia, Ron led a ten-fold increase in revenue and generated the company’s highest global margins.

For four decades, Ron has led strategically, and operated tactically, to drive profitable growth. His career was evenly split between domestic and international, and between corporate and operations. He believes stakeholder value is optimized by investment in organic profitable growth initiatives, supplemented with disciplined, accretive acquisitions. At Brinks, Ron was a pioneer in “sustainability” – not just a program but imbedding it into every aspect of business. At the same time, he has always been focused on risk management and fostering continuous improvement in the control environment.

Ron has served on public company boards at Books-A-Million, Caraustar Industries, and AHL Services. He served on private company boards at First Advantage and NanoLumens. Ron was instrumental in liquidity events at each of these companies. Ron has served on the boards of numerous non-profits including the CFO Roundtable, the Georgia Council on Economic Education, the University of Illinois Dean’s Business Council, the Kennesaw State University Coles College of Business, and FCA Wrestling.

A second-generation American of Italian immigrants, Ron has an MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois (1981 Magna Cum Laude) and a BS in Management Science. He is the recipient of CFO of the Year awards from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the CFO Roundtable, and the University of Illinois. Ron was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame (Georgia Chapter) for his lifetime service as a coach, referee, and advocate. He has been married to Melody for 42 years and they have four children and seven grandchildren.
