Ruth Miller

Ruth is a results-oriented Paralegal with 16 years of legal experience in Employment Law, Contracts, and legal process establishment in numerous legal fields. She is a Legal Manager at Modern, working closely with the Vice President Senior Legal Counsel. Ruth is a professional who considers herself a partner to any attorney with which she works.

Prior to joining Modern, Ruth was a Paralegal Specialist for Nationwide Mutual Insurance for 10 years working on the in-house litigation team, supporting the Employment Law Litigation and Tax Legal teams. Prior to that role in Nationwide, she was a Senior Paralegal supporting the Nationwide Innovative Solutions legal team.

Previously, Ruth worked as a contract Paralegal for Rolls Royce. In this role she revised and negotiated contracts for the building and maintenance of equipment used in the energy sector of the company. Prior to Rolls Royce, Ruth worked for Willbros where she managed workers compensation claims and litigation, and as an Employment Law Litigation Paralegal for Fisher and Phillips LLP where she supported six attorneys.

Ruth received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications Public Relations from the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio. She completed her Paralegal certification in the Columbus State Post-Baccalaureate Paralegal program. Ruth has a love for the law and is driven to success by a deep sense of loyalty and service to her team and clients.

Ruth participates in her community as the Chair for the Rainbow Hilliard Board of Directors. Rainbow Hilliard is a 501c3 which offers education and advocacy to the LGBTQIA community in Hilliard, Ohio. Aside from the annual Pride Event organized by Rainbow Hilliard they were instrumental in getting a non-discrimination ordinance passed by the Hilliard City Counsel in 2021. As a member of this board and a mother to two children in the Hilliard City School District Ruth has spoken at school board meetings on the importance of Diversity Equity and Inclusion. She has also given interviews to local news outlets on the same issues. Ruth is also a volunteer docent for the Hilliard Historical Society.
